It was fusible stabiliser sourced from a company called Rowley in the USA. I don't think there is anywhere in the UK supplying it any more.

I'm sure you've looked....but I'd go to somewhere that specialised in outdoor pursuits/marine type materials..... I think UV resistance would perhaps...

So in the end did you make sure the batten projected far enough forwards to ensure it touched the back of the blind so that the fabric did not pull back...

Have you drawn this out on a piece of paper? - I always find a basic diagram with the maths noted to one side helps clarify how to make things like this...
