I have one for my domestic Pfaff - it looks a bit different though.

Jules, tighten your upper tension as tight as you can, this will dictate the gather.

            Re: Machine foot

This was in my "box of bits", acquired over the years.

I've been looking on the web for a piping foot for my Pfaff Grand Quilter to no avail. Thought I'd check my box and found this, again. It fit's the Pfaff perfectly whereas some of the other feet have the needle hole in slightly the wrong place. BUT no piping foot to be found. Jane's on the case though. However, it must mean that somewhere there is a brand of low shank industrial feet that will fit the Pfaff and the Janome 1600p.......

                Re: Machine foot

I have a piping foot for my Janome 1600P but can't remember where I got it from ... I think I have the name of the company somewhere in archived accounts or I may have it in favourites on the laptop! Will have a look tomorrow - I got several different feet from this company at a fraction of the Janome prices.

                    Re: Machine foot

my gathering foot is a very complicated contraction that does pleats as well - this looks so much easier.

                        Re: Machine foot

I think it fits any machine, I have had it for years and it works by a lever that hooks onto the needle holder ( I think!) and this scissor action moves the fabric under a metal flange that moves on every 3rd or 4th or 5th movement of the needle. Takes ages to set up but can work well. I will try and put up a photo tomorrow.

Jules - have a look here - did a quick search on Feet with keyword 'piping' and they have some low shank ones that seemed to fit lots of models......

Oooo too many for my brain to cope with today! Will have a proper trawl when my head is calm, lol!

The 'gathering foot' as I now know it's called thanks to Philip is a Suisei P50.
