  • Poly tubing

I have run out of poly tubing , I use this to slide over banded curtains and blinds before transporting and usually order from Price and Co but I find it quite expensive. Can anyone recommend a supplier who is relatively cheaper.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Tam

Merrick & Day are by far the cheapest - Look in packaging and supplies.

      Re: Poly tubing

How thick is M & D's? It is very cheap almost half the price of Evans which is medium gauge. I have held of from buying tubing because of the outlay. I've got huge thick polly bags which I use over & over but I think tubing would look more professional but would still like to be able to recycle so that is why I ask about the thickness/durability

        Re: Poly tubing

Mairi I use M&D's layflat tubing - It is a medium gauge I think and more than suitable for the job. I buy 18" for roman blinds, and I think 36" for curtains. Trust me, I use loads of the stuff and you'll be hard pushed to find cheaper.

          Re: Poly tubing

I've just ordered tubing from M&D and was surprised at the price.

I normally buy polythene sheeting (80" wide) on a roll from a local packaging company, folded down to 40" and rolled onto a tube. It's such a faff and much more expensive than M&D.

            Re: Poly tubing

I find M&Ds tubing is very adequate and most certainly very cheap. I can get a pair of 2 to 3 width curtains in an18 inch tube. I have tried and can't find it cheaper anywhere...........................Clive

Again M&D T - I have bought a few from them in the past and they are very sturdy ones. Philip uses quite a lot because of the nature of his business and he will have a much better knowledge of this................................Clive

Depends on what boxes you need - I buy mine from [urlnew:1i6lmj61]http://www.morplan.com[/urlnew:1i6lmj61] I also buy my tissue paper from Morplan and they don't charge for p&p if you spend over £35 plus VAT. You can order a velvet board while you're there!
