    Re: help with loose covers

    Hi Marela

I've also asked this question as I intend to make some myself, if I ever get the time! My couch doesn't have fitted covers, but they tuck in and straighten out which is why I'm happy to use my old covers as a template. Maybe you should read the postings here Loose covers

      Re: help with loose covers

      Hi Marela,
This is my first post so I hope it helps! I make tailored loose covers, and would be wary of making them from existing old covers. I always pin fit onto the furniture. The old covers may be stretched and distorted, and the finished cover may not fit well. Having said that, there is no reason why you shouldn't do it, and I expect the customer will be very pleased with the result! I would suggest taking some vertical measurements - outside back, front band, etc, just to check when you cut out. And measure the cushions, or make a paper template.
