  • Buttonholes

... down the back of an informal loose cover for an armless chair... vertical or horizontal? I can't for the life of me remember, nor make up my mind. Anybody got any hard and fast rules about this, please?

    Re: Buttonholes

I have a suite made by Tetrad and the button holes on these covers are horizontal.

Horizontal - vertical ones would gape too much.

          Re: Buttonholes

You're right, of course. I was being confused by shirt buttonholes being vertical, and coat ones horizontal.

Isn't it odd how the mind goes blank about something so basic?

          Thank you!

And again. Perhaps I should write it down and stick it to the fridge...

Never mind the cheese, I hope there is a bottle of something to drink later on...
