        thought it was good to see in 'real life' as well as hear the theory. This guy runs an interiors business (Moghul Interiors) so has some idea what he's talking about
        their website/blog is an interesting read too.

          The video is good (there are several similar ones on Youtube)
          Generally, you only get the 30/35mm inner clearance when top fixing into a ceiling.
          For walls where the plasterboard has been fitted using dot & dab there is little space to use the best fittings and so the advice of drilling right through into the brick/block is best advice.
          Also, when fitting things like wooden pole which have the small circular back plates with 3 holes close together the 3 best fixing shown in the video won't work.
          My best advice if you have to use plugs is to throw away any that are supplied, usually together with the screws, and use a good quality branded plug and decent screws.

            I'm afraid that this was the start of a slippery Youtube slope ... have now bought the www.straightlines.com gadget for drawings (which was also recommended). Even worse, I'm now contemplating cleaning the shower outlet with some vinegar ....
