  • Tip for wide seam allowances and pleats

If you have a free arm machine - use a rubber band to mark your seam allowance............OK for computerised machines which can't use magnetic seam guides, and no possibility of stickiness from tape. Quick and easy to remove or adjust.

I use a Post- it note but I think your elastic band sounds better!

Great tip - I use Micropore but you do get a build up of marks and stickiness!

I hadn't thought of that - I've been using masking tape! Good tip - thanks

My new Juki is computerised ... and the guy who sold it to me recommended a large magnetic seam guide! This works very well, and the machine hasn't gone pop yet - but I have to admit that I was a bit nervous!!
