  • Bull dog clips

A while ago there was some chat on using bull dog clips to hold pinch pleats in place whilst machining them and I thought that was a great tip that I had never thought of before (as with so many other useful tips I have picked up here).
Anyway I was in an art shop the other day and they had these 6" bull dog clips and I bought one and must say it is great for holding the whole length of the pleat together. You probably all have these already, but I have only come across much smaller ones beore, so I thought it was worthwhile passing it on to anyone who might be interested.

    Thanks Janie,
I don't have them and will have a search in art shops here.

Is this the type of thing you found Janie?

When you use them do you find you need to put card or simliar between the clip and the fabric to prevent a mark at the edge of the clip?

I only bought one but it was about £1.30, and I would only do one at a time anyway. I have just used it with a patterned velvet and it didn't leave any marks and it worked well
