Have you had an influence over the designs or have you got very creative & adventurous customers? Most of mine just want plain pencil pleat curtains or plain blinds - nothing fancy.
Hi Cathy and Jane,
Thankyou for the lovely compliments
As for the design influence, on the whole has come from America........i have been a member of CHF forum for 3 years, (i just checked that and was so surprised it had been that long, time flies.....) most of the different ideas i have tried out on family and friends. My mom mainly, its been a case of wanting to try out something out, my mom wanting new window treatments and letting me go for it.......i did discuss with her first but she just lets me get on with it, of course to her prefered colour scheme.
The tulip heading in the curtains album, the bland and gold, is my first interlined curtains, they are mine, in my dining room, i used a 4" buckram on those and decided a 5" would be better, especially on full length curtains....
One of my favourite imports is the Moreland Valance which is in the top treatments album. That is a pattern from M'fay. The only thing i would change about that one is that i would make it longer to cover the top window. Those look great doubled up too with the swag section in the middle........its just a variation on swags and tails, a simpler version i suppose but i love it.
I did go to college to do c and G curtain making course, but i have been a sewer most of my working life, clothing, so i just moved onto soft furnishing having sewing skills already, so a lot has been from books and the internet.
Thanks again and glad you enjoyed having a look.....
