    Re: Daybed

    Hi Karen C

Thankyou and yes your right i did put a lot of work into it, i think it cost the same to redo the daybed as it was to buy it in the first place!!! But i do think it looks nicer than it was. It was my first attempt at box cushions so i was pleased with the end result. As for the paint affect i love messing about mind you i dont claim to know all that much thats why i tend to stick to distressed finishes that way it doesnt matter to much if you mess up.

    Regards

    Irene

    Re: Daybed

Great day bed Irene, you must have put alot of work into it!

My mum paints curtains poles and the amount of paint finished available are endless! I'm always asking how she is doing something!

Now there's a new thread you could start Irene. Step by step instructions (and pics now you can post them) on paint techniques, especially distressing!

    Thanks Jules

You can't see from the photo but i have given the paint work a distressed finish (bit like me really) and i think i might make some more cushions.

    Hi Irene!

So glad you posted your pic!

I love day beds and like, too, how you've painted it. The way that you've carried the pattern through the front band of your cushions is very good. I'm hopeless at box cushions and piping (but don't tell my clients!). **** tried to give me a lesson but he made it look effortless and for me it isn't!

    Well done you!

    Jx.

    Daybed

Here is a daybed i bought from the cotswold company it was in pine. I painted it, took the matress off and made all the cushions it has been well used as you can see. It sits in the conservatory. Dont know if image is a bit dark.
