These are in a very "American" style home - a log cabin style mansion. The owner has exquisite taste, not what you would expect for such a rustic home.

Is it popular to use part poles?

It was the first time I had done separate poles, but they are very popular in other parts of the country for decorative (non-functioning) panels. The customer requested it in this case, and of course, I obliged.

I've used them to great effect to enhance the grandeur of 'small bay windows' that seem so common in new builds over here. They really can work well.
