  • Rich red curtains

These are the windows on the stairs and landing of a customer who fell in love with the red/gold fabric......there is a third pair of matching curtains at french windows on the ground floor to the rear of the staircase. The leading edges are trimmed with a deep bullion fringe in red and gold.

    Lovely job Louise.
Is the fabric Renassiance from Villa Nova. I made several pairs of curtains in the same fabric last Christmas (200 also with a fabric covered lath.
It is a very stable fabric to make. I have also used it on the four poster bed I did earlier in the year.
    Kindest Regards

Yes Penny, that's the fabric. It was nice to work with - these are all pleated to pattern.

She liked it so much they had the same in gold in their sitting room.

Really Nice - Love the fabric and Bullion fringe - how did you attach it by hand sewing? Fabric Lathe looks great too - did you do it yourself Louise? I know Tam uses fabric lathe's.

Yes, the bullion was handsewn in place as it was quite heavy and had an intricate woven border in addition to the deep fringing. A local company made the lath/track for me as I don't really have a work area to do sawing and the like in (family object to sawdust in their food!)

You really are the Queen of the Avatar, Tam! When I try to upload a moving one it's a complete disaster - static and oh so boring! ~I love yours too, Vertigo Girl!

But, then again, you wouldn't want to see me riding side-saddle at the mo, with all of my extra Christmas bits on the wobble.
