        Oh karen, it's absolutely stunning!

How did you do the arms? Did you remake them or did you get the frames done by someone else? How did you hinge them? Please, please tell. I LOVE IT.

You really are a talented upholsterer. Now you've got your new improved workshop I expect you to run a course, especially for me!!!!

        BIG pat on the back!

p.s. I tried to add 27 smilies but it would only let me sent 5, sorry!

          Re: Knole Sofa

          Thanks everyone,

I have really enjoyed doing this sofa. The arms were already with it but they were chopped off so I just recovered and re-attached. They are attached by Piano hinges and the ties hold the arms up and when you want them down you just let them down.

Very simple - I absolutely love covering Knoles, I would love to just cover these and sell them all the time!

I would love to teach upholstery, its somethings I have been thinking about, just don't really know how to go about setting it all up. There is no way I would attempt this with a beginner though you would definately have to have some experience behind you.

Such a satisfying feeling when its finished though.
          Kindest Regards,
          Karen

That looks absolutely fabulous Karen. The pattern matching is great and I woud be so tempted to point all this out to the customer just in case they had not noticed!!

                            Morning All,

Knole is now back in its home! Yes he loved it which of course is good and I'm happy about that!

He has asked me to do another one (not a knole though) when he has saved up some more money - which is good.

I had to point out the pattern match when I asked the chap for more fabric as he didn't believe that he needed more. He provided me with 12 m of fabric - to cover a big sofa like that with a pattern repeat of 84 cm - I don't think so! Never mind he got more so that I could finish it off all with matching pattern.
                            Kindest Regards,
                            Karen

Yes Karen it was ur matching which most impressed me being an upholstery seamstress to trade. We don't see enough care being taken with matching I was most impressed with ur matching of the scrolls on the arms.

                              be proud girl
