Here are a few pictures of the job that has kept me busy for the last 8 months. I have done 22 windows in this house and have finally fitted the last of the curtains today... Hooray! I am so relived that it's over.
Well done Kim, They all look great, give your self a pat on the back, and I am sure you are proud of your work, may I ask how long did it take you to make them all, and where you doing them on your own or did you have help.
What a great insight into such a large job, interesting to see the range of different styles and treatments used. Did the client have strong ideas about what they wanted, or are they your inspiration?
My oh my Kim , what a wonderful job you have done, they all look superb!
You have achieved a very high standard of work and design. I bet your client was really pleased. I would have been, they look great!
Every curtain makers delight in getting the opportunity to make a variety of different curtain designs.
Well done you! I hope you've got the wine and chocolate on chill ( or a holiday booked !)
Wow Kim, they look fabulous. Love the different styles for different rooms. You must be SO pleased with the results and the client must be delighted. Well done you. I trust you're taking a day or two off! Did you just work on this project for 8 months or have you slotted other clients in between?
Kim give yourself a big pat on the back the curtains look fantastic ,i particularly like the kitchen curtains with the informal valance attached .well done i bet your customer was delighted with the finished results ,have a lovely weekend ali x
Hi all, thank-you so much for your replies. It's really nice to have some feedback. The client decided on all the fabrics in the house within one afternoon!!! I would have taken months. She has very little interest in the style/design etc. so I worked with a friend of mine (her daughter-in-law) and we came up with the ideas, the clients just agreed to everything!.
I had never made swags and tails before this job! this forum has come in sooo handy over the months, and a lot of my posts have been in relation to this house.
I worked on all 22 windows myself with no help and had to slot other clients inbetween. I delivered this client about one room a month on average and installed everything but the goblet valance ones myself. It was my biggest ever job and did cause me a few sleepless nights however I am pleased that it is finished and looking back at the pics I can see that they do look good. At the time of fitting I get really nervous and doubt myself considerably.
This client is a lovely lady but she is also a lady of few words so rather than gushing about how wonderful the curtains and I am (which would have been nice!! ) she just simply said. 'oh they're nice!' which made me more nervous than ever that they were to her satisfaction!
My hubby came along with me for the final fitting and he was a real help. Thanks to your help he is booked on the Silent Gliss course in November so he can do all my fitting in the future.
Nice relaxing weekend ahead before I'm onto the next job on Monday. Thank you all again for all your support, it means a lot to me. x x
From the pictures you have posted there seem to be few roman blinds?? I know that they are very popular and can be embellished in many ways, but it is nice to see curtains and valances. Colleague and I have a job thats about to be started, whole house, five bedrooms before we start downstairs which will take us into the New Year, so its good to have some pictures that show different treatments rather than going to the books for ideas.
