Re: Corduroy
Nono do one called Chunky - you can see a screen shot at http://www.sandersonfabrics.co.uk/ac...ky_Chunky.html - look down the page for other colours, there seems to be a light/duck egg blue shade.Louise

Re: Corduroy
Thanks, that's nice as well. I now know more about wales than is strictly necessary. And fustian. The trouble with being obsessed with textiles,(not in an unhealthy way, you understand) is that you get sidetracked by the history and manufacture of the cloth, instead of looking for colours, and completely forget to turn the oven on.

Re: Corduroy
So we're not going with the corduroy after all, but with a nice sensible cotton canvas, which I shall be able to railroad on the frame so as to give a little more visual interest (and eliminate joining widths for the seat and back, hooray).
I measured this sofa two years ago, and now she wants it done by the end of the month.
Narrow escape, she's looked at LA and Ikea, but commonsense(mine) has prevailed.
Thanks again for everybody's ideas.
