  • Baby blanket advice

Hi I have been asked to sew an embroidered handstitched motif/patch with cotton backing onto a woolen baby blanket.
It has been hand made with loving care and I really dont want to spoil it.It has been suggested that I could put a small piece of cotton on the inside behind the motif and wool??
Would this work? Any advice welcome. Thanks

Most often when you buy clothes with embroidery, they have a strengthening patch on the inside to keep the motif square and true. I don't see why it wouldn't work. The only alternative would be to hand embroider but that's not what you've been asked to do.

Many thanks Jules - I will try that method and hope that the woollen blanket does not pucker.I am doing this at the weekend for the customer. It is to be used and then kept as an heirloom.Help !!
