  • Cover for Duvet

    Hi

I have a lady who has asked me to make a cover to prevent the feathers popping through her duvet cover. This will cover her existing duvet and she will then put her duvet cover over it

Any thoughts on fabric type - ticking, calico?

    Re: Cover for Duvet

You need feather resistant cambric. I would make up the cover, put the duvet inside, then stitch through on the lines of stitching to keep the layers together. Although, by the time you've done all that, it would possibly be just as cost effective to buy a new duvet!

Cambric can be a bit crackly.....I'd suggest you show her a sample before doing the work and be sure you have her commitment (in writing?)

If not cambric, then do you need a fabric with a high thread count so that the feathers can't escape?
