  • Bedding fire regs.

I have been asked to make loose covers for headboards and a valance for a bed n a b&b. I have to get he curtain fabric treated for contract curtaining but what happens about the bedding fabrics?
It will be irritating to have to treat as there is not 5 m needed and I will be penalised.

I wouldn't have thought that bedding fabrics have to be fr'd, otherwise the sheets and pillowcases would have to be, too, and they get washed far too often for it to be practical. Someone else will probably contribute soon with the definitive answer, but I would think it's unnecessary.

Why would you be penalised? The whole cost should be passed on to the client.

I wouldn't be Pen but I have chosen quite an expensive fabric for the bed head which I think will look lovely and the extra cost for the FR treatment pushes it further so my choice might have to change.
Ultimately the client pays but I would rather keep the costs down where possible.
