    hi i am cutting a roman mechisiam. well my husband is for me hes using a hacksaw i gave it ago but struggled with the hacksaw is there a tool any of you ladies use thats easier than a hacksaw to cut metal and how do you shorten the chain its from merrick day thanks very much esther

    I'm afraid I use a hacksaw, but a real one rather than a junior one! Much easier!

      Hi Esther,
      Use a full size hacksaw, with a new blade - it's less hard work! There should be a joiner on the chain, or in the kit. If not, ask Merrick & Day - they supplied it to you.

        Hi Esther

        I find it easier to cut through from the side without the velcro on too, seems to glide through. As the others have said, you need a full size hacksaw.

          I agree that it's easier to cut from the back. Get a neater cut too.

              I use a jigsaw...cuts in seconds...well truth be told hubby does with me holding track
              Make sure u have a blade for metal not wood or acrylic.
