  • Cascade Roman that keeps pleats when down - name?

    Hiya,

One of the ladies i make for saw a cascade blind at the design expo that keeps its pleats when down.

From what i can see, it is lined, then pleated, and then a separate lining is attached at the black which pulls the blind up into concertina pleats.

I am sure it has a name, also does anyone know where i could source some make instructions?

    Thank you x

    Habbled blinds / shades

Sounds like you mean hobbled blinds / shades.

      Thats it! thanks Phillip.

From reading the thread(s), it looks like the picture i was shown was a flat back hobbled shade. The one i saw had a flat back with rod pockets sewn in, and was eyeletted. Looked very smart, i understand allowing for pleat fullness, but i was intrigued how the pleats were attached to the flat back.

Any make instructions or is it one i would need to hunt the American forums for?

      Cheers x

You can buy instructions here - they use cotton tape at the back of the blind to create the hobbled effect. I will check my books and see if any of them have instructions.
