  • Aluminium rods vs fibre glass

    Hello

Im about to Start making two Roman blinds with fairly heavy velvet - one of windows is 180cm wide so I was thinking of using aluminium rods rather than fibre glass.

is that the right thing to do? Can anyone recommend where to get them from?

    thank you in advance

I have made roman blinds up to 240-250cm wide and only ever use fibreglass rods. The main things for stability is to make the rod pockets snug to support the rods and ensure you have enough stab stitches across the blind's width (at least every 30cm) The track you use should already come with the correct number of cord drops, again around 1 per 30cm of width.
