  • Border on side edges

    Hello, me again.
ive never made blinds with a side border and was wondering if you could tell me how to go about it.
the finished width of the blind will be 140cm so I thought putting a side border would be better, and look better than putting small strips of the actual face fabric.
i was thinking of using a 5cm contrast strip each side but not sure how I go about attaching the lining.
hope this makes sense and would appreciate any help with this

Marian, there's no special way! Remember to allow your normal side facings as extra to the finished border width , also not forgetting a seam allowance on both the main fabric and the borders. After you have prepared the face fabric with its borders attach the lining exactly as you would as normal Make it the size to cover all the back as you would normally do. To eliminate bulk I would advise pressing the vertical seams open as you would curtain seams.
