    Re: tab top roman blind

There are some pointers on an old forum, I have picked the best bits:-

    From Schuhby

I've made these several times - I made the blind in the usual way and fitted it to an aluminium track first. What you have is a roman blind with tabs sticking out of the top.

Attache the track to the wall using either bigger track brackets, or attach a length of wood to the wall and screw the aluminium track to the wood.

The blind and pole brackets should stand out the same .. Slide your pole through the tabs and onto the pole brackets. You now have a tab top blind on a pole with the full use of a track.

    Does this make sense?

    And one from me-
I seem to remember someone (Michelle???) giving information on how she did this a while ago. I think she attached a wooden batten to the top of the blind panel by stapling it to a fabric flap stitched on. Then slipped the tabs onto the pole as you would a curtain.

You can also buy purpose made poles but they are quite expensive - and I think Silent Gliss may make a track system you attach the the blind - the 2010 I think. has quite a lot of info.

There is also a US site with quite a lot on

I think you might have to choose the method(s) that suit you and the window in question.......
