  • Another Finishing Trim Question

    Hia
Just completed my first 4 roman blinds for a client done the proper way!
Rod pockets, interlined, blackout, and bartacking etc.
They look absolutley great, but the client now wants a bead trim putting on.
The trimming she wants consists of a very fine ribbon tape, which would be very difficult to hand sew on.
I am reluctant to machine it on as its going to have a seam showing? (but thinking there is going to be a seam showing from the top anyway )
    Any ideas.
    Regards

Do you mean that the client wants beading attached after the blinds have been delivered completed???

Hi Julie, could you use the hem 'n' trim tape from M&D and attach ribbon to the back?

        Many thanks for your answers.
Kim does this hem and trim tape stick really well down?
Have you used it sucessfully before on the hems of roman blinds.

          Re: Another Finishing Trim Question

sorry for the delay, you're probably all done now. I have used it on a trim at the top of a roman blind and it was really quick and easy to use. It is really sticky so you can get in a muddle with it, it's repositionable but sticks permamnently after 24hours.

Hope you managed to sort it out.

            Re: Another Finishing Trim Question

I've used this tape too in loads of different ways, from sticking velcro to a valance (only because a pelmet track was exchanged for a board which meant the valance had to be re-positioned), to repairing a guinea pig hutch cover, and I have found it to be absolutely excellent when fixing fabric to fabric. (not so good sticking fabric to wood or aluminium though)
Expensive, but in my opinion worth the money.

Hi Kim/Everybody else on this post.

Yes I bought some hem and trim tape in the end from M&D (its not cheap is it).

The results were really good, I took my time with being a newbie with this sort of stuff and the end result was A1.

              Many thanks
