  • Cascade shade/blinds

    Hi everyone

I have a client who would like me to make a blind similar to the attached pic (without the bows) for her bathroom. I can't work out how to make it so that it looks like this when up but is also useable.... ie it will come down without leaving ends of ribbon ties dangling....... It seems to me that this blind is actually just decorative rather than functional.

    Any bright ideas?

    Thanks for any input.

    Hi Annie,

Yes, I'd agree with you - this looks like it's only decorative and not a functioning blind. Sorry not to be of more help.

You could perhaps make a London blind? it looks similar and is able to be raised and lowered .. I have tried to upload photo, yet again cannot seem to make it work !
      will try again later today.

That picture does look like a decorative tie-up blind. You can achieve a similar effect by adding a decorative tied up 'swag' to the bottom of a functioning roman

You could have this as a 'valance' and a working roller blind behind.
          Kind regards

There's certainly no way a blind would look like this if it was pulled up and down regularly without much re-arranging each time. I wonder if it has been made with a curved hem as it all looks so perfect?

              Re: Cascade shade/blinds

We originally discussed a roman blind with a cascading voile behind but she now wants a voile roller behind with this in front...

              Aaagh!

I might try to persuade her just to have this as a valance...

              Thanks for the idea.

The way it downloaded for me made it the cleverest "bottom up" blind ever!

Whoops! That's how it came to me but I thought I had rotated it! Sorry!
