  • Interlined Swags and Tails

I am making up interlined swags and tails at the moment.
I am considering leaving the interlining out of the tails due to the amount of bulk there will be once they are all pleated up one on top of another. There will be a total of 14 layers of cloth and contrast without the interlining once they are completed. Also because of the design of the treatment the tails will sit directly on top of the swags.
Does any one have an opinion on this, or is it always expected that you should interline the swags as well as the tails.

    Many Thanks.
    Kindest Regards

Penny I would recommend that you do interline the tails - See qwerty page 190 and read the professional tip at the bottom of the page. Taking a proportion of the interlining out works well.

          Re: Interlined Swags and Tails

          Hi Penny
When we do the swags and tails we tend to use a poly/synthetic interling for the swags and tails and domette in the curtains.
The poly would be something like Edmund Bell 6401 which is 180g poly viscose.
It hangs nicely on the s & T and doesnt get too bulky
          Cheers
