  • rope t/backs

I have been asked to make some rope tie backs, with two tassels. the lady as brought one with her, but I am a bit confused as, how they have wrapped some rope around just where it meets the tassels, what I am trying to say, is how have they joined the rope, because they would have had to cut it. I hope you understand what I am trying to say. its like a silky rope, by the way.

    Re: rope t/backs

There is a book by Anna Crutchley called Tassel Making (and others), which shows how to construct a tieback tassel. But they aren't the easiest things to make well, without practise (unless of course you are a really quick study and a very neat worker!!). I have done the City & Guilds Passementerie course, which I really enjoyed, but I wouldn't make tassels for clients from scratch.
    Kind regards
