    Hi Julie,
where are the bows to be? Decorative or working?

A decorative bow can be made in three pieces - the tails, the loop and the joining piece in the middle. Use strips of fabric, join long edges together and turn through - the end of the tails need to be finished.

Fold the loop piece in half with the raw edges to the centre at the back, place on the centre of the tail piece and use the joining piece to wrap round. You can put a pleat in the tail and loop pieces first if you want. stitch closed the joining piece and stitch in place.

They are for the back of some french garden furniture, the client wants them to be really fussy & elaborate.
Tried putting the image on bit it will not work.

So you want bows to tie the cushion in place. Several ways - one way to is to make two ties and insert them vertically into the gusset at the chair upright position.(They look good interlined so that the bows stand up, or leave them un-interlined for the floppy look.) Then just tie on. Or you can make string ties in the same way. Depends on the look required.
