  • Bench cushions - what size foam?

I always order foam for bench cushions about 2cm longer and wider than the required finished size.....but can't decide whether I prefer it the same thickness or slightly thicker than the finished cover. I have stockinette over the foam, but not dacron wrap.

    What do others choose?

I usually order the same size and then have it dacron wrapped. This helps to fill the corners and give a nice 'loft' and fill to the cover.
I made one with stockinette only and felt the corners needed some more foam - but then again it was the same size as the cover.

Thanks Charl...I guess the dacron is the same as ordering the foam a little larger but with a softer effect......I do like the corners to look full.

I generally make the foam 1-2cm longer, depending on overall length. I prefer dacron wrapping and often put a piece on the top surface and then do a wrap.

Thanks John...looking like dacron is the way to go!

The dacron doesn't pull in the corners like stockinette does.
