    Hi Penny

That looks very similar to the Silent Gliss track.

Re: What type of mechanism is this?

It's a rotary chain roman blind - there are several brands available as complete kits or just the corded headrail with the rotary chain mechanism. Make up the blind in the usual way, then fix to the headrail and cord up.

Thanks everyone for helping, I have left it with the interior designer to sort out she is going to look into it with silent gliss.

That's the same as the 'tape' roman blind kit from Speedy Products. They call them 'tape' rather than chain or rotary.

Out of interest has anyone ever made a day and night blind, In that web site above they sell the track to make them. I like the cord toggles (acorn) used.

                Hi Kathy,

Not yet but may have my first soon. I have seen one in the store where I get my stuff from and thought it was really clever. What do you think of them?

                    hi,
                    Alic husband here,
Do not use the pictured roman blind system unless you realy have to & the only on very light weight blinds. I belive streets sell these sytems as well, they are well priced but from experience do not last long.
But I have been wrong before

                      Hello Ali C's husband!

Which rotary mechanism would you recommend? Sounds like you have some pearls of wisdom to share....!

                      Nice to meet you btw.

Hi Jules ali here had a word with ian and he recommends a chain operated headrail system or a de-luxe premium chain operated system ( OMG how sad is this on a saturday night ) anyhow the first one starts at 29.40 rrp for 90cm wide and the other deluxe all singing all dancing one starts at 59.81 rrp (that sounds a lot of money !!!) both can be found in price and co catalogue. But we have got a life really ali x

                          Thanks Ali and Mr C,

You are a lucky girl having an other half with knowledge re: fittings and stuff. Rich thinks the fairies come with me and do it all with a little fairy dust!

Maybe you could hire himself out Ali? We'd give him back, honestly!

Laughs out loud - we must invite him to our Decozo gathering (if we have one). He could be 'head chef'!
