  • Sliding Panel System

Does anyone have any experience of this. Just quoted for the Silent Gliss 2500 - very expensive. It would be cheaper for me to make the panels but have not had good reports from the fitter about curling of the edges

I'm really interested in these too. I've got two prospective clients enquiring. Copes did acouple of systems which were considerably cheaper than silent gliss but they don't list them in there new price list.
I reckon they would be made up the same as Roman without the rods...so why would the sides curl, as long as the weight at the bottom is heavey enough I think they should be fine

Could you use fabric pre-laminated to make roller blinds? (even if you have to trim it to size) - [urlnew:1pccjwm6]http://www.collybrook.co.uk[/urlnew:1pccjwm6] supply this I think. Or, could one of the companies who will laminate fabric for you to make roller blinds from customer's fabric do it, they should be able to trim to size too.

If you go to [urlnew:1pccjwm6]http://www.bbsa.org.uk/[/urlnew:1pccjwm6] you can search for a member of the British Blinds & Shutters Association near you and ask if they provide a laminating service.

I have seen a product called TREVLAM which enables you to laminate your own fabrics. I haven't used it yet, but the company provide comprehensive information and have a help line too.

Found this site this morning waiting for my client to phone with size of window then I will enquire about price. Certainly looks very simple to install.

            That looks very smart Mairi.

I have never been asked for a panel blind and wouldn't really know what to quote if I was asked. Will anyone who uses this system let me know how they get on with it please?

I am interested in these too. I had not seen them before but saw them in Ikea of all places. Not sure of the cost, but they looked effective, and their fabrics were not curling, (assume you mean at the sides) but they had used very heavy fabrics. Think there was a heavy weight bar in the bottom, and they slid very easily (their demo panel was only small though).
