  • eyelets

Hello, I am about to step into a new world of eyelets! I am excited by the challenge but is always a bit scary.
The curtains will be lined and interlined, I can hopefully get the eyelets pressed locally so thats ok but should the fullness be 1 1/2 or 2 widths?
I am also concerned about the middle, will there be a gap when drawn because of the bracket ? should i allow a wider leading edge?
I am gratful for any advise K

    Re: eyelets

There is a really useful eyelet calculator here http://www.my.decozo.com/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=838 where you type in your curtain width. Not sure what fullness is works to though.

You always have an even number of eyelets per curtain so that the leading and trailing edges return to the wall correctly once on the pole. You are correct in thinking there will be a small gap where the curtains meet at the centre bracket - adding a wider leading edge will not really help as there is no overlap - the gap is caused by the edge of the curtain panel touching the bracket.

I think someone wrote about altering the top of the leading edge of each panel to compensate - can anyone else remember - was it Sue L?

I always go for 2 times pole width - Though I'm told you can use 1.5

Kitty remember to add extra on the length for above the eyelet - I usually add 3 to 4 cms extra to sit above the pole.
