  • Silk Voiles

I'm making voiles from silk which when hung flick out at the side bottom edges. Would anybody have a remedy for this. I'm thinking lead tape but haven't used it before. I have already had to drop the length by some 4cm due to the nature of the fabric. Thank you for any suggestions.

Did you side hem using a machine? Is the tension too tight causing the bottoms to flick out? Otherwise sounds like lead weight for the hem. It is usually made of little balls of lead strung together. You simply lay it in the bottom of the hem, and catch a stitch every now and then to stop it moving about.
