Can anyone tell me if 3" extra for puddling would look ok. The curtains are for bedroom and it's all I can spare. (The material is silk like - 50% cotton 50% polyester and luxurious looking.

    Hi Crackerkelly,
I think 3" would be fine, especially if that's all you have! But it will be okay, they won't puddle so much as 'break' on the floor, the look of which I prefer.
    Kind regards

This is partly personal taste......some start at around 10cm for more of a 'break', sometimes 30cm for curtains that will be dressed and then not moved. If you do a search of the forum for 'puddle' or 'puddling' you will see where this has been discussed before, and the conclusions drawn.

This might be a good place to start.

I agree with 3" - 4". Unless the room is really big with lots of open floor space, larger puddles just tend to get in the way, and cause a trip hazzard.
