  • Easing of Seams

I think I read somewhere on the forum about how to ease seams on fabric that tends to pucker. I'm not sure if I read that you should snip the joining seams before or after stiching. Or does anyone have any tips on how to avoid this problem? The fabric I'm working with today is a nightmare!! If you look at it the wrong way it puckers, if you cut it, it frays like mad. One of those days!!

Cat C. try loosening your tension and replace your needle with a fine one - maybe take a little pressure of the foot too. You can snip if needed before sewing.

Thanks Philip, I did start with a new fine needle and adjusted tension, even trying to turn in side hems is causing problems as you need to be really careful with any iron heat,( it's on it's lowest setting.) I've been trying various things over the last 4hrs. but there must be a way, famous last words!!
