I am finally getting round to making myself some new curtains for my lounge dining room. The Lounge window is 312cm wide x 229cm drop. The dining room is 267 wide x 229cm drop. The material I have chosen is a cut velvet, 137cm wide. if you know what I mean). They will be interlined with 260 domette and lined with double pleats and will be hung on a corded track. Do you think 2.5 widths per curtain would be enough for the lounge and 2 widths per curtain for the dining room, or would that be a bit skimpy, especially in the dining room?
    Kind regards

I usually work to 2x fullness for double pleats so that looks OK to me, I don't like double pleats to project too far from the curtain panel so around 12cm for the pleat area is a good starting point.

Thank you Louise, you’ve put my mind at rest. I felt if I made them wider they would be too bulky, especially on a track!

Maybe a little more than 12cm now I’ve re-read that it’s velvet and interlined but still think 2x is enough
